Programmes

Each semester, CEDARS-CoPE organizes a series of Person Enrichment workshops and programmes. They are designed to develop various competence and abilities among students. These include:

  • learning strategies
  • creativity and lateral thinking
  • critical self-reflection
  • interpersonal skills for establishing relationship with others
  • communication and collaboration
  • leadership skills

Person Enrichment Workshops

Students are encouraged to attend one or more of the Person Enrichment workshops to strengthen their positive character traits and enhance their life quality.

Life Investment Series

To help students develop positive character traits and attitudes, CEDARS – CoPE has launched its first Life Investment Series since the academic year 07-08.

Leadership Life Skills Course (LLS)

Every student has leadership potentials and unique leadership styles. The LLS Course aims to address the needs of the students and facilitate their search for self and life goals, equip them with necessary skills, knowledge and insight so that they are able to contribute to the well-being of society and to provide leadership in the community.

The programme is a one-month intensive course. It uses a personalized coaching oriented, strength-based and action-focused learning approach to address various dimensions including intellectual, emotional and social competency, diversity of leadership, leadership-follower dynamics, leadership ethics and morals. Emphases are put on critical self-reflection, enhancement of negotiation and conflict resolution skills, as well as the awareness of ethical dilemmas. Students who have joined this programme not only gain better self-understanding in multiple perspectives and acquire essential skills as leaders, they also develop strong devotion to the community and society at large.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

Mental Health First Aider

Mental Health First Aiders are trained to provide appropriate initial support for peers, family members or colleagues who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given before appropriate professional treatment is received.

Students from any study programmes or disciplines can become mental health first aiders by joining the 12-hour international certificate course.
